What did we do?

Archery Instruction
ü  Learned about the parts of a bow and arrow
ü  Learned how to load and fire an arrow
ü  Learned how to safely carry the arrows
ü  Learned safety on the firing range

Archery
ü  Practiced loading, firing and retrieving arrows on a range

BB Instruction
ü  Learned about the parts of a gun
ü  Learned how to safely load and carry
ü  Learned shooting positions

BB Gun:
ü  Practiced loading, firing and safety on the range

Whittling Chip
ü  Learned the requirements to receive the Whittling Chip card

Whittling
ü  Learned how and practiced whittling on soap

Leatherwork
ü  Learned about leather making tools
ü  Learned how to prepare, tool and finish a piece of leather

Beadwork
ü  Learned about beads and how to lace them together

Nature
ü  Identified direction using local geography
ü  Practiced observation skills
ü  Practice hiking skills: stay on the trail, pick up litter, stay together
ü  Completed a 20 minute hike

Water Relays
ü  Used principles of team work to complete games

Compass
ü  Learned about directions and how north lines up because of the earth’s magnetic pull
ü  Learned how to use a compass to find a direction
ü  Practiced using a compass on a simple course

Throwing Sports:
ü  Learned about some traditional Olympic throwing events and participated in them
Jumping Sports:
ü  Learned about some Olympic jumping events and participated in them

Team Sports:
ü  Learned the importance of working with more than one team member
ü  Learned a new team sport.

Mt. Olympus Challenge:
ü  Implemented qualities of the Olympic spirit – courage, perseverance, determination – to complete an obstacle course
